There’s something to be said for simply having good content on your Facebook. An active wall suggests an active business, and gives credibility to your work ethic and ability to create. But good content doesn’t sell itself, you have to find ways to draw in viewers.
You don’t want to just post and hope for the best, you want as much guarantee as possible that your post will be engaging and will create views, likes, and shares. Here are six ways to accomplish just that.
1) Include a photo or a video
Photos are 200% more likely to be shared or liked than text alone, and videos (wait for it) have a 1200% higher chance of being shared than simple text! People want to interact, and the more senses you appeal to, the more interaction you will get.
2) Use hashtags
On certain social media platforms, hashtags make your post visible to anyone that is looking at similar posts you or someone else has posted. Even if someone is exploring a hashtag for a different reason entirely, that’s great, you’re reaching people that are potential new followers!
3) Tag people in your photos
Tagging people in photos not only automatically shares the post on the tagged individual’s wall (if allowed), but it shows that you are a HUMAN and that you are engaged with real people that you value. People like to be valued, and people like knowing they’re a part of something that affirms them.
4) Use Facebook Insights
If you’re unsure when the ideal times of the day to post are for your audience, what kinds of posts will vibe well, etc., you haven’t used Facebook Insights. Insights takes statistics based on your own previous posts, interprets the data, and provides it to you through understandable graphs and numbers. If you’re not using Insights, you’re not getting the most out of your Facebook marketing.
5) Pay to boost the post(s)
You don’t have to pay an arm and a leg. For $30 your post becomes visible to thousands more at a minimum. If you have a limited budget, boost one or two posts a month for just a few dollars, and watch your views increase exponentially.
6) Put Yourself In Your Audience’s Shoes
Pretend you are one of your own followers, and try to imagine where you’d be and what you’d be doing when you see the post. Are you at your desk? Are you traveling? Are you taking care of the kids? Are you just waking up? Are you checking Facebook on your phone at a concert?
The more you can identify with your audience, the more in tune you will be with the appropriate content that will suit them and turn them into loyal and fully-engaged followers.
