Tips for Branding Your Business

Regardless of size or industry, branding is one of the most important things that you can do for your business. Here are some quick tips that are guaranteed to get your brand to work for you.

  1. Tell your story

What makes your company different? Tell the world what makes you stand out from the competition. Share the story of how your company started and what’s important to you on your site, blog, and social media. Be authentic, share your passion and make yourself relatable and your audience will make note.

  1. Tie it all together

Every aspect of your business should be consistent, from the “voice” that you maintain in your content and social platforms, to the packaging of your products, to the way that you answer phone calls.

  1. Maintain clear visuals

Create a clear and consistent logo that speaks for your company and use it on everything. Your logo should be the same online and in print. Don’t confuse your customers with varying colors and designs. Find a logo that speaks for you and stick with it.

  1. Start a conversation

People love knowing that they are being heard. Engage your customers in conversation about what they like (or dislike) about what your company is doing. Take their feedback to heart and use what they are telling you to better your brand and your business.

  1. Put yourself in their shoes

Sometimes the most effective way of making sure that your customer experience is working and memorable is to put yourself in their place. Visit your website, blog, and social media profiles and look at them through a customer’s eyes. (Or ask  friend or colleague to give an honest critique). Is your message, aesthetic, voice and style clear and consistent? Can you get a clear understanding of exactly what the company does and provides? If the answer is no, it’s time to rebrand!

Keeping these branding tips in mind will help to ensure that your company is putting its best face forward and guarantee that your message is clear to your audience.
